SEMUC CHAMPEY
It is in Lanquín over the Cahabón River. It is built by a natural bridge of stone of approximately 500 meters long. In the surface there are 7 emerald color pools from 1 to 3 meters deep, feeding by springs from the mountains.
These pools are located in a small canyon formed by sedimentary and limestone rock in the highlands of Polochic Valley. By the characteristics of the warm subtropical very humid forest, there is a range of flora and arboreal canopy.
The access to this side is by a non paved road, in good state, passable all year long. From there to Semuch Champey is 8 Km. in double transmission vehicle or on foot.


LAKE ATITLAN
It is considered one of the most beautiful in the world by the famous novelist Aldous Huxley. It is without a doubt the most important landmark in Sololá and one of the most known in Guatemala.
Three spectacular volcanoes, Tolimán, Atitlán and San Pedro form the natural frame of the Lake itself. It has a surface of 125 square kilometers and is settled on 1,560 meters above sea level.
The Lake complements its beauty with roads, beaches, riverside towns, mountains and volcanoes panoramic. It offers excellent opportunities to practicing fishing sport, sail, kayaks, free falls, aquatic skiing and the naturalistic recreation, as well as visit the 12 Mayan towns, with biblical names around the lake.
DISTANCE: It is located at 89 milles (144 km.) from Guatemala city.
ACCOMODATIONS: Panajachel, the most famous and cosmopolitan town around the lake, have all kind of hotels and restaurants. The easy way to go to the other towns is by water.

RIO DULCE:
It starts on Izabal Lake to the Caribbean Sea, amazing paradisiac places among the hot tropical sun, the sea breeze and the Caribbean weather, this large territory concentrates the essence of this region.
IZABAL LAKE:
It is the largest of the country, it is surrounded by beautiful beaches: El Estor, Mariscos, Dorada Beach and an exuberant vegetation, reason why it offers to the visitant a great beautiful panorama. It is a saling lake and and also formes waves of some consideration.
CASTILLO DE SAN FELIPE (SAN FELIPE CASTLE):
It is a National Historical Monument located in Rio Dulce. It was a fort against the pirates that invaded the Atlantic coast of Guatemala, during the XVII and XVIII centuries.


LACHUA LAKE
Laguna Lachuá is a karstic lake in Guatemala. It is located in the middle of a national park covered with tropical rain forest, northwest of Cobán, near the border between the departments of Alta Verapaz and El Quiché. The lake is almost circular and is probably a sinkhole (cenote) or doline. The lake water has a slightly sulphurous smell. “Lachuá” is derived from the Q’eqchi’ mayan language.
The water contains a relatively high degree of calcite and tree branches fallen into the lake are quickly covered with a white calcite layer. The Peyan river forms the main water inflow and the Lachua river its main outflow.
In 1976, an area of 145 km² around the lake was designated a national park. Lake or sinkhole Lachuá and its buffer zone was also declared a Ramsar site in 2006.
FINCA EL PARAISO:
The wonderful hot spring waterfall of “Finca El Paraiso” (Paradise Farm) is on Lake Izabal norther shore, between El Estor and Río Dulce.
A wide, 12-meter-high warm-water fall plunges into a clear pool cooled by surrounding streams. There are some caves worth exploring above the falls, so you will need to bring a flashlight.
“Finca El Paraiso” is ideal for those who want to spend some time in pleasant surroundings amid lush tropical vegetation

LAS ESCOBAS, river and waterfalls:
“Las Escobas” is located at 20- minute drive from San Tomas de Castilla Port in Izabal. Las Escobas River flows from the top of Cerro San Gil down to Amatique Bay. There are beautiful natural pools and waterfals.
